Charnwood Voluntary and Community Sector Forum - Inaugural Meeting
On 10 February 2010 the inaugural meeting of the Charnwood Voluntary and Community Sector Forum was held at Woodhouse Community Hall (for press release please click on the link below).
The meeting was organised to enable local groups to discuss the concept of a district forum and what it might achieve. It was well attended by a diverse number of organisations from throughout the borough and gave the opportunity for consideration of issues faced by the communities they serve and to seek to involvement in the planning and decision making of public service agencies, including Charnwood Borough Council.
A Steering Group was subsequently formed to discuss how to take forward the outcomes from the day and the launch event for the Forum will be held on 20 September, hosted by Loughborough University and officiated by the Mayor of Charnwood.
