The young people’s panel; Leicestershire Youth Bank have £575,000 to give out to projects across the county.

The closing date for applications is 9th April 2009. Please note the closing dates this year are earlier to allow projects taking place across the summer months to benefit from the funds. The Fair Share Trust aims to support organisations that have missed out on Lottery funding. Grants of between £5,000 and £250,000 are available to projects that meet at least one of the local priorities: increase capacity and sustainability, build social capital and improve livability.

Grants from £2,000 to £300,000 are available from the Wildlife Trusts for not-for-profit groups and organisations delivering projects such as growing, processing, marketing and distributing local food; composting and raising awareness of the benefits of such activities.

for tree planting events
The Woodland Trust is offering grants of up to £100 for community groups that hold a tree planting event this winter. To qualify, the projects should involve planting primarily native broadleaf trees on public land and the event should be open to all the community.

The Foyle Foundation is an independent grantmaking trust that distributes grants to UK charities whose core work is in the areas of learning, the arts and health. Most grants awarded range between £10,000 and £50,000. Applications are accepted all year round.
