The Foundation funds projects in the UK in the general fields of education, arts, health, environment, community, youth, religion, welfare, and social. There are no specific priorities for funding and a wide range of charitable activity is supported.

Grants from £2,000 up to £500,000 are available for not-for-profit groups and organisations in England delivering such projects as growing, processing, marketing and distributing local food; composting and raising awareness of the benefits of such activities.

The Trust makes grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 to smaller charities throughout the UK, especially those working at grassroots and local level. Grants are one-off.

The Tesco Charity Trust is inviting applications to its Community Awards scheme. The scheme makes one-off grants of between £1000 and £4000 to provide equipment or practical resources for projects that directly benefit children, older people, and adults and children with disabilities living in the local communities around Tesco stores.

Community Spaces is a £50m grants programme that provides funding to community groups across England to improve or create green open spaces. The programme is funded through the Big Lottery Fund's Changing Spaces initiative and is managed by Groundwork UK.

Although the majority of Community Spaces funding will go towards small and medium sized grants, the programme is also offering a limited number of large grants (up to £100,000) and flagship grants (one per region, up to £450,000).
