Sport Relief aims to support projects that use sport and exercise to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for people who are excluded or disadvantaged. Over the next two years, up to £4m of Sport Relief money is being distributed through Community Foundations focusing on community groups that are using sport to: increase access to sport and exercise for people who face social exclusion and isolation; help people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to regain their confidence and self esteem; and encourage people to take part in sporting activities that bring communities together.

Over £2.5m in matched funding from Sport England is still available this financial year for projects that aim to sustain or increase participation in community sport. http://www.sportengland.org/sportsmatch_making_a_difference.htm
