VAL Staff at JSH

VAL have confirmed that two members of staff will work in the Charnwood District and will be based at John Storer House. Clare Nagle has been recruited as the District Development Officer and Ilir Demaj is the District Volunteering Assistant. They will both start at VAL on 1 September 2009 and drop-in sessions at John Storer House will commence on 14 September when it is planned to offer sessions as follows;

Monday 9.30am - 1.30pm
Thursday 2pm - 4pm
Friday 9.30am - 1pm

A drop-in session at Shepshed will be confirmed shortly.

The team are here to offer support to voluntary and community sector groups throughout the region and to promote and advise local people into worthwhile and rewarding volunteering opportunities.

Clare's role is to offer first hand support and guidance to groups on a range of topics including:

• Starting a new group
• Management and governance issues
• Generating and sustaining funding streams
• Identifying training or development needs
• Creating worthwhile volunteering opportunities within the Charnwood District

Ilir is responsible for providing advice and guidance to any members of the community interested in volunteering. He will hold weekly volunteer drop-in sessions (times listed above) where he will be available to discuss any element of volunteering and provide further information on volunteering opportunities within the Charnwood District.
